The thing about art today in the age of massive information sharing is that by the time an image or story gains acclaim, it’s often stale in a way.

But what I think is more relevant and useful is seeing how did that image or story affect you. Was it meaningful? Did it resonate? Does it excite you and inspire passion in you? Were you completely engaged with it? Do you feel like you grew or you gained something from that exchange?

That’s the genuine value it offers and that can last far beyond any trend or buzz.

For a book or visual art or a movie, that becomes simply timeless. That can be simple or hard to achieve, but that’s real value.
