There's a lot of truth to fiction...in some ways, fantasy can really illuminate reality. It is the second reason I love fantasy - you're able to put things in there and let people discover them and their own thoughts and feelings about it.
The first reason would be using the imagination! It's a wonderful outlet for that. :)
